One of Angel's flaws is his attitude towards the Boss. As a result, the player doesn't get their revenge because a third party finishes Sergio off instead. While he does show up during the train robbery mission for what appears to be a boss fight, he is immediately gutted by the Nahualli before the player can fight him directly. Of course, the player will want revenge on him for destroying Neenah's car, but that revenge never comes. However, after that, he more or less drops out of the plot. He is also behind one of the emotional high points of the game, destroying Neenah's beloved car after an entire mission spent trying to recover it. Sergio is encountered early in Saints Row, chasing the player with his monster truck in an early mission when they're still working for Marshall. However, he failed to do much of anything despite being highlighted in Saints Row's overview trailer, which is precisely what makes him so disappointing. In the game's early chapters, Neenah's relationship with Los Panteros hints further that Sergio would end up being a big player.
In the buildup to the Saints Row reboot, Sergio was hyped as the powerful leader of the Los Panteros gang. Even though Kazuo thought that he was the best crime boss in Stilwater, he doesn't come close to measuring up.
Kazuo was a completely charmless replacement for his son, who could at least get some entertainment value out of his arrogance and immaturity. The Ronin storyline would have been better if Shogo had remained the antagonist. Related: Saints Row's Side Hustles Ranked From Worst To Best Even when Kazuo becomes the final boss of the Ronin storyline, he doesn't leave much impact because all he ever did was complain and watch his organization fall. While Saints Row's reboot could learn from 2, Kazuo's storyline should be ignored. In fact, Kazuo single-handedly destroys Ronin's most significant asset, their alliance with the overarching villain Ultor Corp, because of his ego.
It doesn't help matters that despite repeatedly insulting Shogo's leadership skills, Kazuo isn't much better at leading the Ronin.
Despite Shogo being rude, unruly, and generally unlikable, one can easily feel bad for him for having to put up with Kazuo. A lot of Kazuo's screen time is spent with him berating his son over his failure to take down the increasingly powerful Saints.
